A Reflection of my Speech

A Reflection of My Speech

Giving public speeches really help you grow as a person. It brings you out of your shell and allows you to share with others something that you are passionate about. It allows you to see things from somebody’s perspective other than yourself. I just recently did my speech on the Student Center because personally I feel like it has so many opportunities that could help so many students.
We all have our strengths and weaknesses. Naturally, I am a very social person, so speaking in front of people isn't really something I ever get to worked up over. I felt like I had a lot of really good information that someone could possibly take into use. I felt like I had quality information about the organizations in the student center. My problem is that sometimes I tend to ramble on to long with a subject. Which is not  a horrible thing if you have good information, but sometimes people will lose interest in your speech if you aren't quick and precise.
I had another classmate who presented on the student center. We both had different styles of presenting our information. He had a lot of information about a lot of different things in the student center. I had a lot of personal views about the student center because I believe those can be beneficial even If somebody doesn't necessarily agree. Both ways can be effective. I really liked the way he talked about the new student center project in comparison to the current one we have right now. I think it would have improved my speech if I would have incorporated that into it.
Overall I felt really good about my presentation and the way I tried to relate it to the class. What I need to improve on is being more precise on subjects and not rambling on for a whole minute  about one particular organization or place before going to the next slide. I felt like my eye contact with the audience was solid but can be improved. Sometimes I tend to keep me eyes on the screen for too long when I get going on a certain topic. But as a summary of my presentation and the content I delivered I feel very good about it and hope that it can be as helpful information to my classmates!
