 I will be addressing not only the most well-known placed in the city of Lexington, but one of the most well-known sports arenas in the entire sport of College Basketball, Rupp Arena. What an extremely special place. The home of the University of Kentucky Men’s Basketball team and what a tradition they have indeed. The most wins in the history of college basketball with 2140 wins to date, 8 national championships, and an astonishing 16 Final Four appearances.

According to http://www.bigbluehistory.net/ in the history of UK basketball there have been 122 players drafted to play in the NBA. The UK Men’s Basketball program has made a lot of people extremely wealthy. Considering the fact that the average NBA player makes approximately 5.15 million dollars per year think about how much money has been accumulated from professional basketball players from the University of Kentucky. What an amazing statistic. The program has provided so many positive things for so many people.

My personal favorite thing about the arena, along with so many others, the atmosphere! There are very few things on this earth that can give you the rush you get through your bloodstream as you are cheering on the Wildcats with 23,000 other loud fans! Rupp Arena is such a special place to so many people in Lexington and in the state of Kentucky in general. When you think of the city there is two main topics that always seem to come up, Horses with the race track Keen-land located right here in Lexington and of course UK Basketball!

Every state takes a lot of pride into their most prestigious traditions and people in the state of Kentucky and of course the UK Student body are no different! Rupp Arena is not just the home of a basketball team, is has a special place in the hearts of so many Kentucky Basketball fans.If you have never made a trip to this great venue I strongly encourage you to do so. It is a miraculous place with a phenomenal atmosphere!
